camera obscura
Explain what a camera obscura is (below add an image of a Cam obs)
A camera obscura is a darkened room with a small hole or lens at one side through which an image is projected onto a wall or table opposite the hole. "Camera obscura" can also mean a box or a tent

How did you alter the focal length? How did you know that you had done this successfully?

I made the camera obscure by using a sheet of black paper and making it into a cube by taping the corners. Then on one side, I placed tracing paper on the top and on the other, i made a whole for a magnifying glass and taped both the tracing paper and magnifying glass down.
I found trying to capture a clear image difficult. A positive focal length indicates that a system converges light, while a negative focal length indicates that the system diverges light. I altered the focal length by making sure sunlight was directed towards the box. I knew I did it successfully when i had a clear image.

‘What went well’ & ‘Even better if’..this might relate to
- The construction
- The clarity of the image projected on the back of the camera
- The focal length
- Your ability to draw what you could see
What went well:
The accuracy of the tracing and the clear image of what we were tracing
Even better if:
The construction of the box was more aesthetically pleasing

Even better if:

shutter speed
Shutter speed is how long the shutter is open for.
It is measured in seconds and fractions of seconds
The program dial should be on TV

Levitation
I was trying to achieve a levitating look like we were doing every day things but we were in mid-air.
Yowa Yowa
Yowa Yowa is a Japanese photographer who captures images of herself doing natural things but in mid-air.
My response
Explain the task- what were you trying to achieve? (see the department website attached to the homework for support
In this project, I was trying to capture images of my partner levitating in mid air whilst making it look natural.I improved my technique by having my partners legs look more straight and a firmer hold.
A tip for creating a good levitation photo is to have your feet flat so it looks as if you are still in mid air. You should also take off anything that can move on your body. Eg, necklaces, lanyards, unzipped hoodies etc. Focusing the person in the centre of the camera will also help.
i used high ISO to make the camera more sensitive, I also used a high shutter speed to make the images sharper

WWW : I got natural facial expressions of my sister in mid air
The objects I used for her were good because they are ordinary everyday objects so it looks more natural even thought she is in “mid-air”

Blurred movement
In this exercise, me, Sissi and Freya made ourselves look blurred and not in focus. Blurred movement is when the object on your camera moves during an exposure.

Aperture
Aperture controls how much light enters the camera. Aperture is the opening in the lens. Depth of control is how much distance is in focus
Aperture
Aperture is an opening in a lens through which light passes. It allows you to control the depth of field of your images. Depth of field is the distance between the closest and farthest objects in an image which also have some sharpness in them. The smaller the aperture opening, the greater the depth of field; the shorter the focal length, the greater the potential depth of field. Therefore, a wide-angle focal length at a small aperture diameter has much greater depth of field than a telephoto lens at the same aperture setting
Depth of field
Aperture effects the depth of field . Depth of field is how much distance is in focus. It can be shallow or extensive.
